👩‍🍳 How to make Katla Macher Paturi

  1. Mix mustard paste, coconut, green chillies, ginger, turmeric, salt, and mustard oil.
  2. Soften banana leaves over flame for 2-3 seconds per side.
  3. Place fish fillet in center of each leaf.
  4. Spread mustard-coconut paste over each fillet (about 2.5 tbsp).
  5. Fold banana leaf to encase fish completely.
  6. Secure with toothpicks or banana leaf ties.
  7. Steam in steamer basket over boiling water for 18 minutes over medium heat (100°C).
  8. Fish should be opaque and flaking when tested.
  9. Remove packets carefully and open.
  10. Serve hot with steamed rice and dal.
