👩‍🍳 How to make Bengali Bread Snack

  1. Mix dry ingredients (1 min, room temp): Combine flour, sugar, salt, yeast in bowl.
  2. Add wet ingredients (2 mins, room temp): Add ghee, warm milk and water. Knead to soft dough.
  3. Knead (8 mins, low): Knead 8-10 mins by hand until smooth and elastic. Dough should feel soft, slightly tacky.
  4. First rise (1 hour, warm place): Cover with cloth, let rise in warm location until doubled in volume.
  5. Shape (5 mins, low): Punch down dough, divide into 8 pieces. Shape each into smooth ball.
  6. Second rise (30 mins, warm place): Place on greased tray, cover. Let rise until puffy.
  7. Top and bake (15 mins, 400°F): Brush with water, sprinkle sesame seeds. Bake at 400°F for 12-15 mins until golden-brown. Breads should sound hollow when tapped.

📖 Cultural notes

Pav (leavened bread) is eaten with sabzi (curry)—soft, pillowy texture pairs well with any gravy for dipping. ---
