👩🍳 How to make Momos
- Combine flour and salt in bowl.
- Add warm water gradually while stirring with fork until dough forms.
- Knead on lightly floured surface 5 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Add 1 tbsp oil; knead 1 more minute.
- Cover with damp cloth; rest 15 minutes (dough relaxes for easier rolling).
- Heat 1 tbsp oil in wok over high heat.
- Add onion, garlic, and ginger; fry 1 minute until fragrant.
- Add cabbage and carrot; stir-fry 3 minutes until slightly tender (retain crunch).
- Add spring onions, soy sauce, salt, and black pepper; toss 1 minute.
- Transfer to plate; cool completely before assembling.
- Divide rested dough into 24 equal pieces.
- Roll each into thin circle (3–4mm thick, ~8cm diameter).
- Place 1 tbsp filling in center of each circle.
- Fold edges over filling, creating pleats, and pinch at top.
- Grease steamer tray with oil (prevents sticking).
- Place momos 1cm apart (do not touch).
- Boil water in steamer pot; place tray over steam.
- Steam 10–12 minutes until wrapper becomes translucent and shiny.
- Test: Wrapper should feel slightly sticky but skin must hold shape.
