👩‍🍳 How to make Momos

  1. Combine flour and salt in bowl.
  2. Add warm water gradually while stirring with fork until dough forms.
  3. Knead on lightly floured surface 5 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Add 1 tbsp oil; knead 1 more minute.
  5. Cover with damp cloth; rest 15 minutes (dough relaxes for easier rolling).
  6. Heat 1 tbsp oil in wok over high heat.
  7. Add onion, garlic, and ginger; fry 1 minute until fragrant.
  8. Add cabbage and carrot; stir-fry 3 minutes until slightly tender (retain crunch).
  9. Add spring onions, soy sauce, salt, and black pepper; toss 1 minute.
  10. Transfer to plate; cool completely before assembling.
  11. Divide rested dough into 24 equal pieces.
  12. Roll each into thin circle (3–4mm thick, ~8cm diameter).
  13. Place 1 tbsp filling in center of each circle.
  14. Fold edges over filling, creating pleats, and pinch at top.
  15. Grease steamer tray with oil (prevents sticking).
  16. Place momos 1cm apart (do not touch).
  17. Boil water in steamer pot; place tray over steam.
  18. Steam 10–12 minutes until wrapper becomes translucent and shiny.
  19. Test: Wrapper should feel slightly sticky but skin must hold shape.
