- Soak dal 30 min, drain.
- Cook dal with water, turmeric, salt in pressure cooker, 4 whistles (8 min).
- After release, heat ghee separately to 180°C, add ginger, garlic, cook 3 min until light golden, crispy.
- Add cumin (30s), green chilly, asafoetida.
- Pour tempering into cooked dal, mix well.
- Taste: dal soft (some whole), spiced ginger-garlic flavor, slight burn from hot tempering.
