- Pressure cook soaked moong dal with water, 5-6 whistles
- Let pressure release naturally
- Heat oil to 170°C, add cumin seeds, cook 20 seconds
- Add onion, fry 3 minutes until translucent
- Add ginger-garlic, cook 2 minutes
- Add tomato puree, cook 4 minutes on medium heat
- Add cooked dal with liquid
- Add turmeric, chili, coriander, salt
- Simmer 10 minutes on low heat (150°C) until smooth
- Visual: creamy golden curry; Aroma: warm spices
- Garnish with coriander leaves and green chiles
- Serve with rice or bread
