- Pressure cook soaked lentils with water, 15 whistles on medium heat
- Let pressure release naturally
- Heat oil to 170°C, add cumin seeds, cook 20 seconds
- Add onion, fry 3 minutes until golden
- Add ginger-garlic, cook 2 minutes
- Add tomato puree, cook 5 minutes
- Add cooked lentils with cooking liquid
- Add all spices and salt
- Simmer 20 minutes on low heat (150°C)
- Visual: thick, creamy black curry; Aroma: earthy lentil spices
- Serve with rice or bread
