👩‍🍳 How to make Kali Dal

  1. Pressure cook soaked lentils with water, 15 whistles on medium heat
  2. Let pressure release naturally
  3. Heat oil to 170°C, add cumin seeds, cook 20 seconds
  4. Add onion, fry 3 minutes until golden
  5. Add ginger-garlic, cook 2 minutes
  6. Add tomato puree, cook 5 minutes
  7. Add cooked lentils with cooking liquid
  8. Add all spices and salt
  9. Simmer 20 minutes on low heat (150°C)
  10. Visual: thick, creamy black curry; Aroma: earthy lentil spices
  11. Serve with rice or bread
