- Cook rice + moong dal in salt water until grains separate (20 mins)
- Crush pepper + cumin
- Heat oil, add cashews + ginger, fry until golden (2 mins)
- Add curry leaves
- Add cooked rice + dal
- Fold gently, stir 2 mins
- Sprinkle pepper-cumin mixture
- Serve in banana leaf bowl if available
