  1. Soak rice 2 hours
  2. Grind with coconut to fine batter
  3. Add salt, add water gradually for flowing consistency
  4. Heat idiyappam maker (press mold) in hot water 2 mins
  5. Oil mold lightly
  6. Boil water in large pot
  7. Load batter into mold chamber
  8. Press mold to extrude stringy noodles into boiling water
  9. Strings sink, then float in 1 min
  10. Remove with slotted spoon
