- Cook toor dal soft, reserve water
- For fish: Heat oil, add onion, fry 2 mins
- Add fish + turmeric + salt, cook 3 mins
- Add tamarind + chili powder, simmer 5 mins
- For sambar: Heat oil, add mustard + cumin + red chili (crackling)
- Add pumpkin + dal water, simmer 8 mins
- Add cooked dal, curry leaves, simmer 2 mins
- Serve white rice in center
- Fish curry on one side, sambar on other
