  1. Wash lentils, cook with turmeric + salt in water until soft + creamy (25 mins)
  2. Heat oil, add mustard + cumin + red chili (crackling)
  3. Add curry leaves + asafetida + garlic, fry 1 min
  4. Pour tempering into cooked dal
  5. Fold gently, simmer 3 mins
  6. Drizzle ghee on top
  7. Serve over white rice
  8. Warm comforting lentil dal, creamy texture
