👩‍🍳 How to make Tamarind Fish

  1. Soak tamarind in 50ml warm water 5 min, extract pulp (5 min)
  2. Pat fish dry (1 min)
  3. Heat oil in pan over medium (1 min)
  4. Add sliced ginger, cook 1 minute
  5. Add coarsely chopped onion, cook 2 minutes
  6. Add turmeric, stir (30 seconds)
  7. Add sliced green chilli
  8. Add water, salt (reserve tamarind pulp)
  9. Bring to boil (3 min)
  10. Gently add fish steaks
  11. Reduce heat to medium
  12. Simmer 8-10 minutes until fish is partially cooked
  13. Add tamarind pulp, stir gently
  14. Simmer 3-4 more minutes until fish is fully cooked
  15. Serve hot
