👩🍳 How to make Mixed Vegetable Porridge
- Rinse rice (1 min)
- Heat oil in pot (1 min)
- Add cumin seeds, crackle 30 seconds
- Add asafoetida, swirl (10 seconds)
- Add ginger, cook 1 minute
- Add diced onion, cook 2 minutes
- Add rinsed rice, stir 1 minute
- Add water, salt, bring to boil (5 min)
- Add diced vegetables (carrot, beans first as they take longer)
- Reduce heat to low, cover
- Simmer 15 minutes, stirring occasionally
- Add peas (which cook quickly) 5 minutes before rice finishes
- Add minced green chilli
- When rice breaks down and vegetables are very soft, mixture is done
- Serve hot
