👩‍🍳 How to make Lentil Breakfast Stew

  1. Rinse lentils thoroughly (1 min)
  2. Heat oil in pot over medium heat (1 min)
  3. Add cumin seeds, let crackle 30 seconds
  4. Add asafoetida, swirl (10 seconds)
  5. Add minced garlic (if adding), cook 30 seconds
  6. Add grated ginger, cook 1 minute
  7. Add finely diced onion, cook 2 minutes
  8. Add rinsed lentils, stir well (1 min)
  9. Pour water and salt
  10. Bring to boil (5 min)
  11. Add sliced green chilli
  12. Reduce heat to medium-low, simmer 12-15 minutes
  13. Stir occasionally (every 2-3 min)
  14. When lentils are completely soft and mixture is thick, add coriander
  15. Serve hot
