- Heat oil in pot over medium (1 min)
- Add minced garlic, cook 30 seconds
- Add grated ginger, cook 1 minute
- Add coarsely chopped onion, cook 2 minutes
- Add sliced green chilli
- Add fermented soybean paste, stir well for 2 minutes (distribute paste throughout)
- Pour water gradually while stirring
- Add salt
- Bring to boil (5 min)
- Reduce heat to medium-low
- Simmer 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally
- Mixture becomes thick and creamy
- Serve hot in bowls
