👩‍🍳 How to make Jeera Rice

  1. Rinse rice under running water until water runs clear; drain thoroughly
  2. Heat ghee to 60°C in heavy-bottomed pan with tight-fitting lid
  3. Add cumin seeds; crackle 10 seconds
  4. Add cinnamon, cardamom, cloves, bay leaves; toast 5 seconds until fragrant
  5. Add drained rice; stir gently for 1 minute to coat with ghee
  6. Pour water/stock and add salt
  7. Bring to boil on high heat (2 minutes), then stir once
  8. Reduce heat to lowest setting, cover with foil, then place lid on top
  9. Cook for 12 minutes without opening lid
  10. Turn off heat; let rice rest covered for 5 minutes
  11. Fluff gently with fork
  12. Serve hot
