👩🍳 How to make Sago Upma
- Soak sago in water for 30 min, drain very well.
- Heat oil (160°C), add mustard seeds (crackle 10 sec).
- Add cumin seeds, fry 10 sec.
- Add curry leaves, fry 15 sec.
- Add onion and green chili, cook 1.5 min until soft.
- Add drained sago, stir frequently for 4-5 min until pearls become translucent and lightly cooked (should look glossy). Visual cue: Pearls swell, become glassy, no raw white center visible.
- Add roasted peanuts, stir for 1 min.
- Add salt, toss once.
- Serve hot.
