👩‍🍳 How to make Sago Upma

  1. Soak sago in water for 30 min, drain very well.
  2. Heat oil (160°C), add mustard seeds (crackle 10 sec).
  3. Add cumin seeds, fry 10 sec.
  4. Add curry leaves, fry 15 sec.
  5. Add onion and green chili, cook 1.5 min until soft.
  6. Add drained sago, stir frequently for 4-5 min until pearls become translucent and lightly cooked (should look glossy). Visual cue: Pearls swell, become glassy, no raw white center visible.
  7. Add roasted peanuts, stir for 1 min.
  8. Add salt, toss once.
  9. Serve hot.
