👩🍳 How to make Millet Upma
- Dry roast millet (160°C) for 2 min, stirring occasionally (should smell nutty).
- Heat oil (160°C), add curry leaves (fry 15 sec).
- Add onion, cook 1 min.
- Add green chili, cook 15 sec.
- Add turmeric, stir 10 sec.
- Add roasted millet, stir for 1 min (all grains coat with oil).
- Slowly pour water while stirring (prevent lumps).
- Reduce heat to medium (170°C), stir frequently, cook 5-6 min until water absorbed and millet becomes fluffy. Visual cue: Grains swell and separate, no liquid remains.
- Add salt, toss once.
- Serve hot.
