👩🍳 How to make Mung Bean and Barley Porridge
- Rinse mung dal and barley separately; drain
- Heat butter in pot to 65°C
- Add cumin seeds; sizzle 30 seconds
- Add onion, ginger; fry 2 mins
- Add mung dal, barley; stir 1-2 mins
- Add turmeric
- Pour water; bring to boil (100°C, 3 mins)
- Reduce heat; cover
- Simmer 22-25 mins
- Dal should be very soft, barley tender
- Stir occasionally; mixture becomes thick and creamy
- Season with salt
- Serve warm (above 55°C), garnished with cilantro
