👩‍🍳 How to make Mung Bean and Barley Kedgeree

  1. Rinse mung beans and barley; drain
  2. Heat butter in pot to 65°C
  3. Add cumin seeds; sizzle for 30 seconds
  4. Add onion; fry 2 mins
  5. Add mung beans and barley; stir for 1-2 mins
  6. Pour water; add turmeric; bring to boil (100°C, 3 mins)
  7. Reduce heat to low-medium; cover
  8. Cook for 20-25 mins until beans and barley are very soft
  9. Stir occasionally; mixture should become thick and creamy
  10. Season with salt
  11. Serve hot (above 60°C)
