👩🍳 How to make Momos with Yak Meat
- *Dough:*
- Mix flour and salt; make well
- Pour water gradually; knead for 5-7 mins until smooth
- Knead in butter; cover with damp cloth
- Rest 20-30 mins
- *Filling:*
- Combine ground meat, onions, cilantro, green onions, ginger, cumin
- Season with salt and pepper; mix well
- *Assembly:*
- Divide dough into 16-18 equal balls
- Roll each to 3-4 inch circle
- Place 1 tbsp filling in center
- Gather edges; pinch to seal (should resemble small pouch)
- Place seam-side down on steamer lined with parchment
- *Cooking:*
- Bring water to rolling boil in steamer pot (100°C)
- Place basket over water (not touching)
- Steam momos 12-15 mins until slightly translucent
- Meanwhile, prepare sauce: heat oil; add onion, cook 2 mins
- Add tomatoes, green chilies; cook 5-7 mins until broken down
- Season with salt
- Serve hot momos (above 60°C)
- Serve chili-tomato sauce on side for dipping
