👩‍🍳 How to make Dried Yak Meat and Barley Crackers

  1. Combine barley flour and salt in a bowl
  2. Rub in yak butter until mixture resembles breadcrumbs (1-2 mins)
  3. Shred dried yak meat finely; add to flour mixture
  4. Mix in optional chili powder
  5. Add water gradually, stirring until dough forms (should be stiff)
  6. Knead gently for 2-3 mins
  7. Roll out on floured surface to ¼ cm thickness
  8. Cut into 2 x 2 inch squares or diamonds
  9. Heat oil in shallow pan to 70°C
  10. Shallow fry crackers until golden-brown on both sides (2-3 mins per side, 80-90°C oil)
  11. Drain on cloth
  12. Serve while still warm
