👩🍳 How to make Chickpea and Barley Porridge
- Cook barley separately if using uncooked: simmer in 1 cup water for 25 mins until soft
- Heat butter in pot to 65°C
- Add onion, ginger; fry 2 mins
- Add cooked chickpeas; stir 1 min
- Add cooked barley (or raw barley if cooking together)
- Pour in water; add turmeric; bring to simmer (90°C)
- Cook for 20-25 mins if using raw barley (15 mins if barley pre-cooked)
- Stir occasionally; mixture should thicken
- Season with salt
- Garnish with cilantro
- Serve hot (above 60°C)
