👩‍🍳 How to make Chickpea and Barley Porridge

  1. Cook barley separately if using uncooked: simmer in 1 cup water for 25 mins until soft
  2. Heat butter in pot to 65°C
  3. Add onion, ginger; fry 2 mins
  4. Add cooked chickpeas; stir 1 min
  5. Add cooked barley (or raw barley if cooking together)
  6. Pour in water; add turmeric; bring to simmer (90°C)
  7. Cook for 20-25 mins if using raw barley (15 mins if barley pre-cooked)
  8. Stir occasionally; mixture should thicken
  9. Season with salt
  10. Garnish with cilantro
  11. Serve hot (above 60°C)
