👩🍳 How to make Carrot and Lentil Dal
- Rinse lentils; drain
- Heat butter in pot to 65°C
- Add onion, ginger; fry 2-3 mins
- Add lentils; stir 1 min
- Add carrots; stir 1-2 mins
- Add turmeric, cumin
- Pour water; bring to boil (100°C, 3 mins)
- Reduce heat; cover partially
- Simmer 16-18 mins
- Lentils should be soft and breaking down
- Carrots should be very soft
- Dal should be thick and creamy
- Season with salt
- Serve hot (above 65°C), garnished with cilantro
