👩‍🍳 How to make Carrot and Lentil Dal

  1. Rinse lentils; drain
  2. Heat butter in pot to 65°C
  3. Add onion, ginger; fry 2-3 mins
  4. Add lentils; stir 1 min
  5. Add carrots; stir 1-2 mins
  6. Add turmeric, cumin
  7. Pour water; bring to boil (100°C, 3 mins)
  8. Reduce heat; cover partially
  9. Simmer 16-18 mins
  10. Lentils should be soft and breaking down
  11. Carrots should be very soft
  12. Dal should be thick and creamy
  13. Season with salt
  14. Serve hot (above 65°C), garnished with cilantro
