👩‍🍳 How to make Barley Halwa

  1. Heat butter in heavy-bottomed pot to 65°C
  2. Add barley flour slowly, stirring constantly
  3. Cook for 4-5 mins on low heat, stirring frequently
  4. Flour should turn golden brown but not dark
  5. Heat milk separately to 70°C
  6. Gradually pour warm milk into roasted flour, stirring to avoid lumps
  7. Cook on low heat for 6-8 mins
  8. Add jaggery, salt; cook until dissolved
  9. Add dried fruits and nuts
  10. Add cardamom
  11. Cook another 2-3 mins until halwa is thick and glossy
  12. Serve warm (60-65°C)
