👩‍🍳 How to make Pitha with Aloo Filling

  1. Mix rice flour with cooked dal, water, salt into smooth dough.
  2. For filling: heat mustard oil, add cumin, onion, fry 2 min, add ginger, chillies, cook 1 min.
  3. Add mashed potato, turmeric, chilli powder, salt, coriander.
  4. Mix well, cool.
  5. Divide dough into 12 portions, flatten each, add 2 tbsp filling, fold into half-moon, seal edges.
  6. Steam in greased steel bowl with water at rolling boil for 12 min.
  7. Visual cue: pithas should be soft, pale golden, no cracks on surface.
