👩‍🍳 How to make Khichdi

  1. Rinse rice and dal.
  2. Heat ghee, add rice and dal, toast 2 min.
  3. Add milk and salt.
  4. Bring to boil, cover, reduce heat, simmer 20 min until rice and dal are soft and milk is absorbed.
  5. Add jaggery, stir until dissolved.
  6. Add cardamom, almonds, raisins.
  7. Cook 2 more min.
  8. Serve warm.
  9. Visual cue: khichdi should be creamy, golden-tinted, rice and dal soft, nuts visible, sweet aroma.
