👩‍🍳 How to make Kashmiri Bread Upma

  1. Heat ghee in large pan on medium heat
  2. Add cumin seeds, let sizzle 30 sec (fragrance releases, seeds darken slightly)
  3. Add asafoetida, stir 10 sec
  4. Add green chillies, fry 1 min until soft and aromatic
  5. Add carrots, cook 2 min (partial softening)
  6. Add bread cubes, stir-fry 2-3 min until they start browning and absorb ghee
  7. Add peas, water, salt, mix well
  8. Cook 3-4 min on medium heat, stirring occasionally, until vegetables are tender and bread is soft
  9. If too dry, add 2 more tbsp water
  10. Garnish with chopped coriander
  11. Serve hot
