👩🍳 How to make Shakarpara
- Mix maida, wheat flour, ajwain, salt in bowl.
- Add 30ml oil gradually while mixing.
- Add water slowly; knead into firm dough. Rest 10 min.
- On floured surface, roll dough into thin sheet (2-3mm thickness).
- Cut into 1-inch squares using knife.
- Heat oil in deep wok to 170°C (test: small piece browns slowly).
- Deep fry squares 1-2 min on medium heat (160°C) until light golden.
- Flip; fry other side 1 min until golden and crispy.
- Remove with slotted spoon; drain on paper.
- Make syrup: In saucepan, heat powdered sugar + 30ml water over low heat (120°C) for 3-4 min until sugar dissolves and syrup thickens slightly.
- While shakarpara still warm, toss in powdered sugar mixture to coat.
- Spread on parchment to cool and set.
- Store in airtight container.
- Serve as snack. Should be crispy, sweet, crunchy.
