👩‍🍳 How to make Pao with Chai

  1. Make chai (8 mins, medium heat): Combine water, ginger, cardamom in saucepan. Bring to boil. Add tea leaves, boil 2 mins. Add milk and sugar. Bring back to boil, reduce and simmer 3 mins until rich, caramel-coloured. Strain into cups.
  2. Butter bread: Slice pao horizontally. Spread generous amount of butter on both cut sides while bread is room temperature — butter should melt slightly into the soft interior.
  3. Serve: Arrange buttered pao alongside cup of chai. Dip bread into chai.
