👩‍🍳 How to make Goan Crab Xacuti

  1. Follow same spice toasting and grinding process as Mutton Xacuti (Steps 2-5)
  2. Heat oil in wide pan over medium-high flame
  3. Sauté onions 4-5 min until golden
  4. Add tomatoes, cook 1-2 min
  5. Add ground masala paste, cook 5 min until fragrant and oil separates
  6. Stir in vinegar (1 min)
  7. Place crab pieces into masala, mix well (3 min)
  8. Add water, bring to simmer
  9. Lower heat to medium, cover, simmer 20-25 min (crab shells turn darker red)
  10. Slowly add coconut milk while stirring (2 min)
  11. Cook uncovered 10-15 min until sauce thickens and coats crab pieces
  12. Season with salt
  13. Visual test: meat should be tender, sauce should glaze crab
