  1. Heat oil, add mustard seeds, cumin seeds (30 secs).
  2. Add asafoetida, onions, ginger, chilies (1 min).
  3. Add carrots, peas, cook 1 min.
  4. Add semolina, toast 2 mins (stirring, medium heat).
  5. Add water, salt, bring to boil (100°C).
  6. Reduce to low (65°C), cover, cook 5-7 mins.
  7. Visual cue: water absorbed, fluffy texture.
  8. Serve hot.
