👩‍🍳 How to make Ragi Upma

  1. Boil water with salt in heavy pan (100°C).
  2. Slowly whisk ragi flour into water avoiding lumps (constant stirring 2 mins).
  3. Reduce to low heat (70°C).
  4. Add oil, cumin seeds, asafoetida.
  5. Stir in ginger, chilies, carrots, peas.
  6. Cover, cook 8-10 mins, stirring every 2 mins.
  7. Visual cue: thick porridge, vegetables soft.
  8. Serve hot with jaggery on side.
