- Pumpkin: heat oil, add cumin seeds (30 secs).
- Add pumpkin, turmeric, salt, water.
- Bring to boil (100°C), reduce to low (70°C), cover, cook 18-20 mins until pumpkin very soft, almost mushy.
- Dal: cook toor dal separately with water, salt (25 mins).
- Finish with ghee.
- Arrange rice, pumpkin curry, dal, and fried onions on plate as thali.
