  1. Rinse rice and dal.
  2. Heat 3ml ghee, add cumin seeds (30 secs).
  3. Add rice, dal, turmeric, salt, vegetables, water.
  4. Bring to boil (100°C), reduce to low (65°C), cover, cook 20-25 mins until creamy.
  5. Finish with remaining 5ml ghee.
  6. Serve khichdi with yogurt, pickle, and fried onions on the side.
