- Rinse bajra and dal.
- Heat ghee, add cumin seeds, asafoetida (30 secs).
- Add bajra and dal, toast 2 mins (medium heat).
- Add water, turmeric, salt.
- Bring to boil (100°C), reduce to low (65°C), cover, cook 25-30 mins.
- Stir occasionally.
- Visual cue: grains split, creamy consistency.
- Serve hot with ghee.
