👩‍🍳 How to make Simple Dal Fry

  1. Rinse dal. Pressure cook with turmeric, salt, water for 3-4 whistles. Cook 10 mins, release steam.
  2. Mash slightly (partial mash). Heat oil at 160°C.
  3. Add mustard seeds (crackle 15 seconds), urad dal, fry 30 seconds.
  4. Add dried red chillies, curry leaves, cook 10 seconds.
  5. Add cumin seeds, onions, garlic, sauté 2 mins.
  6. Pour into cooked dal. Stir well.
