👩‍🍳 How to make Barramundi Steamed Whole Fish

  1. Clean fish thoroughly, pat dry (removes 80% moisture).
  2. Stuff cavity: ginger slices, garlic, curry leaves, cilantro (inside abdominal).
  3. Place on banana leaf (oiled plate works).
  4. Top with remaining ginger, garlic, chillies.
  5. Drizzle lemon, soy sauce, turmeric, salt.
  6. Wrap loosely (steam needs circulation).
  7. Fill steamer pot 500ml water, rolling boil (100°C).
  8. Place fish on rack, cover, steam 18-22 min (flesh opaque throughout, flakes easily when pierced, internal 63°C).
  9. Carefully remove (fish delicate when cooked).
  10. Transfer platter, garnish cilantro, fresh lemon wedges.
  11. Serve hot rice.
